The new baseball season is here, and all 30 major league teams are dreaming of World Series glory. As spring turns into summer and then fall, some teams’ chances of winning will fade. But one "team" has been a steady winner all season long: Broadcast Television.

A recent Katz study of MLB fans reveals some interesting insights:

  • 80% of MLB Superfans tune in to games on Broadcast Television. 
  • Of all the MLB viewers watching on Broadcast Television, 42% are women, showing that MLB’s appeal goes well beyond just the traditional “Boys of Summer.” 
  • These viewers have an average household income of over $114,000, which means they have solid buying power.
  • They also enjoy other sports like basketball, golf, and even pickleball. 
  • Many are actively involved in their communities through religious, educational, and military/veterans organizations. 
  • They’re 38% more likely to eat at upscale restaurants. 
  • A lot of them are planning to travel, buy or lease a new vehicle, and make home improvements in the coming year.
  • Plus, half of these viewers have a college degree or higher.
